Perhaps they keep talking him up because they’re under the delusion it may result in gaining the ‘inside scoop’? Who knows?
And I wonder if maybe they’re under the impression he may be someone who could unknowingly share info he probably ought not to? I guess it would explain the undue obsequiousness I would find myself reading here regularly prior to the additions to my ignore list.
