I missed the release that ES-1 was in the main objective (the Elang/Plover). I am surprised that this could have been confirmed so quickly and definitively considering from the drilling report, only a relatively small reservoir section had been drilled.
I assume that Eni confirmed the presence of the Elang/Plover by palynology, the only reliable way to do so and not easy to do from cuttings samples - unless of coarse the core has been retrieved and palynology has been performed on core samples.
