I'm personally not reading anything into the comment "had reached 2,880mMD and was drilling ahead to the predrill planned total depth of 3,150mMD." as an indication that they intend to call total depth at 3,150mMD. IMO, this comment is a "cut & paste" that is out of context and just reads very poorly. It is also effectively contradicted by the comment at the top of page 5! (Slide 1).

I'm expecting at least 100m of Vega Alta Fm. to lie above the carbonate reservoir from the Vega Alta's thickness at Marti-5 (Slides 3 to 5) as well as that it was drilled into at Bolanos-1 (Slide 2) and obviously at Alameda-1.
