Just a contrarian view
Stock price denomination and price movement rules for buy backs mean that if they decide to do a buyback it would be more-so just putting in floor bids at the highest existing bid price. They won't be moving any pips.
I think it's largely useless in this case, given that it's quite clear we're at a floor price now anyway. Buyers here have confidence this won't be free-falling anytime soon given the cash backing...... and besides if you've followed enough buybacks you'll know that when the price is free-falling you can bet the buyback will be temporarily paused due to "uncertainty".... The cash balance is a better floor than a buyback here.
