Australian collaboration expanded with imaging partnerships

4DMedical’s commercial team has embarked on expanding referrer access to XV Technology by adding new groups that are validated to offer clinical scan data to generate ventilation reports. This expansion builds upon the substantive footprint offered through our partnership with I-MED to offer services beyond the scope of that agreement. Clinical scans have been undertaken in South Australia, through Jones Radiology, and in regional Victoria, at Lake Imaging (part of the Integral Diagnostics group (ASX:IDX). Additional scans have been reviewed for ChestRAD, a boutique medical imaging practice in Perth, specialising in chest imaging, and we look forward to finalising an agreement with Spectrum Medical Imaging, an independent radiology practice that provides state-of-the-art imaging services with links to Prince of Wales hospital and Liverpool hospital. This diversification of imaging providers continues to accelerate generation of clinical trial data and expand patient access in Australia.

I completely missed this paragraph when I viewed the document on my iPhone. This a a very clever strategy overall in the Aussie market. While IMED is a big fish, they are after all, owned by PE who want cash and piles of it. Happy to do scans but preference "low hanging fruit" in terms of dollars. They have had this for months, yet trying to book a LV scan is difficult. They clearly aren't willing to spend the time to promote if it is going to cost them the time to do so when they are already busy, with quick simple scans. Hence 4d have had to step in and sort this out for them . They are now teaming up with smaller specialised radiology practices with a more academic and specialised focus. My experience is that specialist do have preferences for these types of practices. When these units start getting more referrals for lung radiology from local physicians/GP , this would provide the financial incentive for IMED to promote the scans.

1. Chest RAd- Perth
2.Jones Radiology - 20 practices
3.Lake imaging : 18 practices (not sure if these are separate to 70 odd units mentioned with IDX practices )
4.Spectrum Imaging 9( an independent radiology practice that provides state-of-the-art imaging services with links to Prince of Wales hospital and Liverpool hospital)

This is getting exciting...Matt Tucker has certainly hit the ground running since being appointed a few months ago.
