I am aware of this which why I will happily sit on a 14yr old Prius until it craps out. My previous ones did at least 400k each before dying and cheaper to replace with a comparable second hand unit than be bothered with fixing as it's just a hack. NIMH chemistry although old takes the abuse without lithiums degradation. Last vehicle got rid of was 23yrs old and running sweet until failure and it wasn't the battery but associated wiring. Hyundai as far as I am aware already have this bi-directional option inbuilt. In the UK they were using Nissan Leafs in grid tied trials last I read.
Once the standard is legal in Aussie then only newer models will be certified is my belief,irrespective of older models already having the infrastructure built in but disabled as I believe is the case I believe with current Tesla models in the US.
Roll on more use of Copper and more tons 3500 tons would be nice.
Given the 2 point drop in exchange rates to the US $ to .65 the copper price is only down AU$0.25c a lb to the US average for last month as of today ($AU 560/ton),but October was a cracker month at .67 or Au$14,239 a ton($AU 500/ton+ up),considering the last QTR was into a hedge at $12500 a ton, and that was $AU1200 below the average for that QTR of AU $13700 at .67
So far so good half way through the QTR
