Wind power is just about the cheapest power we can get, except for solar power in sunny low-latitude deserts. Offshore wind in the US produces electricity at between $26 and $54 per MWh, onshore $28-$33/MWh, solar $28-$39 (all unsubsidized). This compares with FULLY DEPRECIATED electricity from coal which costs $34-$38/MWh, and new-build coal which costs $69-159/MWh. (All data for the US, in US$)
