Lot of saucies are not surprised at Intel bombing Optane

one saucie: In summary, Optane’s technology never really delivered enough, and what it did deliver cost too much.

    another saucie:

    So Intel Optane,
    1. Missed the mark
    2. Was too expensive
    3. intel tried to hem customers in by tying Optane benefits to x86 Xeon systems (Intel enterprise systems). This ultimately limits customer choice for broader hardware solutions
    4. CXL coming into its own
    5. Intel tried to offer Optane SSDs as well as DIMMs. Saucies say they should have focused ammunition on one solution before spreading Intel resources across different Optane products.
    6. Intel still did the sector a real solid by burning billions of their own cash to kick start the category...

One very pertinent question for the investor relations hub (will need to be multiple questions - 250 character limit - no I won't ask, DM won't answer my questions because I think he's pissed at me re the whole Desu thing, so one/multiple of you must ask)

What does the demise of Intel Optane mean for 4DS? Is there any pivot in technology direction or commercialisation strategy?

Is the correct solution for max exit value storage class memory or persistent memory? Or something else?

How does the current state of the SCM & PMem markets (immature state) change or otherwise influence the 4DS corporate strategy?

There has been a lot of movement in this emerging market, including the demise of Optane, is the sales bonus pool structure still relevant given these changes?

Does it make sense to wait for the market to further establish before seeking an exit for 4DS? Why? Why not?

One other question... Likely to not get answered...

Where would the board guide shareholders to set shareholders expectations for a successful exit? What resources or past transactions are relevant and comparable in the boards opinion?

Saucie boi Mark Webb told me he will be releasing a presentation at the upcoming FMS on what he believes all this means for the emerging memories and the change in financial model and strategic model
@Hateful8 - keep an eye out for this Incase my meds make me forget

what do I believe? (Does it matter?) I believe the market is more dynamic with this news. Opportunity afoot.

Does this change Desus 25c target? Dunno. Don't think so. I believe these type of details and intimate knowledge of the sector is the very thing that we all do not have, but the likes of Desu and saucies do. They do have this knowledge, they have this feel for, and they have a handle on all these niche nooks and crannies of the sector which we simply do not have/understand. How could we? We have lives and careers miles outside the semiconductor industry.
It is these types of knowledge that Desu and other saucie Bois use to conclude their "guesstimates" of 4DS acquisition value.

    Lets see though.
maybe this Optane news does shift the emerging memory commercialization model and financial model...

    for worse ...?

    for better....?

keep an eye out for Webb's presentation dropping next week. He will no doubt have a number of insightful nuggets.

    good luck and good weekend
