Given imec are the partner, the 4DS strategy will be whatever becomes the agreed scope with imec.
i still think they're coming up with a multi step scope of works (most of which could probably be done at the same time): 1. Do some testing for us on PL4 & help us provide more detail to market (this could be bake some fresh PL4 chips and imec run testing) 2. Do some consultancy work to help us develop our pitch to potential suitors 3. Make us a bunch of chips (PL5) targetting other parameters so we can demonstrate that its tuneable (and try and illustrate trade offs between speed / retention / endurance) 4. Maybe do some at lower geometries ???
given all the etch issues are now resolved, I reckon PL5 timeframes will be significantly lower than PL4.
they've got the money to do all of this, it's just a matter of working out what poses risk and what adds value to a potential transaction.
