meanwhile on the 12CQ front, we might see an early use case in sensors like magnetometers. It was hinted at in the last update. Personally I like this path. It's good that AXE has never hyped quantum computing but rather focused on nano and atomic scale properties. It's material science that can pay dividends. The single electron transistor sounds less alluring than 'quantum processor' but at the engineering level it is isolating and measuring spins of electrons. Also from the last update, a better material and method to fabricate whole wafers. There is some overlap of the techniques used in both 12CQ and gFET fabrication. Nice to be able to do that.

I am less and less impressed with the current 'quantum industry' out there. IBM and Google can afford to spend their own cash, that's great. They and others are selling black boxes that we can choose to accept on trust. Or ignore. What seems to be the current business model is to offer quantum computing via cloud and charge for cloud access. IBM, Qctrl are already doing this. Psiquantum plans to do this and run a 'for profit' business. I recently had a look at a cloud quantum computing learning platform. Not convinced. All it offers is a lot of software simulation of quantum but is it actually quantum. Not very likely. The business model is pretty well laid out though. Complete with regular email encouragement to sign up. Quantum computing courses for hundreds of dollars a year.

so I would rather AXE continue with its 12CQ hardware without unnecessary spruiking and develop a good enough spin life time and read out that stands up to more scrutiny. Wishing the team well.

and what is this new strategy that the board seems to have embarked on. Hope we get some clarity on the biochip plans as well.
