It seems that HC SH weren’t the only ones asking (in vain) for commercialisation roadmaps. Dr C pointedly refused to develop them.
That, combined with the vapour deposition process possibly superseding the nano-onion structures meant he may have found himself on the outer. Unlikely we’ll ever know for sure.
It would be nice to know if the dwindling pile of cash will be enough to see AXE through until a commercial deal is done.
