Just from my experience in mining world - the explorer/junior miners might have their eye on a buyout by the likes of BHP/Rio Tinto, but they conduct themselves like they are taking their projects all the way through to production. You can't just prove up a massive ore body and then sit on your hands waiting for someone to notice you.
There is also the analogue question - extra capability requires extra development - maybe they will look to license off the original SCM/Near DRAM capability to someone who can make something of that in the near term, while putting in more work to develop the analogue side of the tech.
