...While formal collaboration agreements have not yet been executed, management is beginning
to see clearer signals around where our TMR sensor technology can create differentiated value,
and we are tailoring our messaging, technical collateral, and product roadmap accordingly.
These efforts are essential to ensuring that when we do move toward partnerships, we are
doing so with a well-aligned and market-ready offering....
This in my opinion is why I believe AXE has turned a corner. Both the development milestones reached and the state of the chip industry have brought us to a point where we don't have collaborations that are purely exploratory in nature. In our 'younger' quantum aspiration days and when chip design was entrenched in classical silicon computing, we had big picture ideas being discussed with IBM, or we approached it from what quantum software might look like for machine learning.
In the last year the carbon nanomaterial technology we have now has made paths clearer.
Meanwhile, zooming out and looking at where the semiconductor industry is needing to go, it is looking towards spintronics, analogue, probabilistic computing, which is more solution based, power efficient. All of computing is going to need this all along its supply chain. AXE has the skills to make these type of chips..."technical collateral"
It so happens that the synergies between quantum chips and bio sensors is ever increasing. Both will also produce data that machine learning algorithms will use.
.."tailoring our message"... indeed! There is no point going after 'big boys' when said boys are heavily invested in their own quantum experiments, despite them being very expensive pioneering efforts. They serve a valuable purpose in exploring the issues that need solving. One being room temperature computing. Another is sufficiently scalable error corrected machines. These are all areas where AXE can be more strategic in tackling the problems head on. The carbon film can be designed into nano carbon dots, which could have better error correction.
With the TMR sensors, the quantum tunnelling effect demonstrates highly precise electron flow switches. These principles are probabilistic and not deterministic like classical information. There are a dozen ways these properties can be deployed. I would guess that Simon would be talking to some who want tunnelling effects, others who want spintronics devices, others who want p-bit chips etc.
