I can tell you how I played this stock.
This stock can have a high intra-day beta , well at least during its hey days.
I would queue at a low end , maybe a few bids below its overnight closing price and also queue a few bids higher above the closing. So if it goes down, I get to buy at a good price and then wait for that odd day when it goes up , usually upon announcement, so I am ahead of the queue when it goes higher. I did this several rounds on its way up, so at any given point, I never increased my exposure.
Was I a speculative trader or investor at that time? I behaved like a trader and continue to monitor if it was worthy of me being an investor. I would not get sucked into loving the stock because I held a large stake. When it got too high in valuation, the play wasn't sustainable any more, because the commercial progress did not keep pace with the rise in market cap (especially after they started issuing lots of stocks including the large performance shares).
All I am saying is that its valuation is ahead of its commercial progress, so IMO at present time it is not worthy of purchase [unless for pure intraday speculation]. Until it is able to demonstrate it can land a large deal [better to wait till then and pay a higher premium than to buy now waiting for validation] and show more exponential volume growth, the business model isn't going anywhere. We see that with GSW as well after all the early promises.
From an investor perspective, I would look at the opportunity costs of holding YOJ shares. If I had invested $10k in it, I would ask what could I possibly do better with the money holding another proven stock that is cheaper, safer. What can I buy for $65m valuation? I could e.g buy Energy One (EOL) for $24m (market cap) with $10m annual revenues and slightly profitable [assuming I didn't mind that lack of trade or liquidity] or Mastermyne (MYE) at under $100m with $5m profit $200m annual revenues. If you start comparing , then you could determine if you are actually getting bang for your buck. Not because it is trading at a penny 6-7c it looks cheap because YOJ has close to a billion shares in issue.
