Why would you be surprised that someone holds and they're negative about that stock. Go to any stock, BHP or the lowest of market caps and everything else and you'll see disgruntled holders. You don't know what else they've got, why they're still holding, whether they've traded it, sold down along the way ...
You could ask the very same type of question which is why are there punters who've pumped this stock in the 30's and are still pumping it today ??
