I did that very thing with PME, when it slightly more than doubled for me I sold 40% of my holdings at an average of about $1.90 per share in mid 2015 (hit $33 today). To add to the pain I hadn't held for 12 months so did not get the cgt concession. The good news I guess is that I still have most of the balance.
IME has already doubled for me too, but I am gonna to be brave here with IME and see where it is in 5 years time, if I can.
