    Those cost estimates are eye watering, and ridiculously extreme in this uber-inflationary environment.

    You just should not even consider building a mine processing facility (in Australia) at those costs - it's almost insane.

    And the labour costs are way out of control.

    My brother and his wife have gone north, here in WA, with jobs as simple cleaners on mine accommodation, that is, basically hoovering and cleaning dongas, and only that, and they are being paid the equivalent of AU$180,000 per year each (when holiday loading, and superannuation, and insurance, and taxation, and Sunday/Public holiday work, are all taken into account) - that's crazy.

    My lady friend's son is a high voltage electricians who struggles to string a sentence together, who completely flunked school at 14 years of age, and can hardly read or write, but who is now earning over AU$250,00 per year on mining sites in WA. Good for him I say, but for investors, and for the cost of building mines, it's an absurd burden. Has the world gone mad?

    These mining costs are purely insane.
