Northern Pilbera has lots of granite and some of those granites contain pegmatites which in turn contain lithium minerals. The Pilbera is likely to become a major lithium province (along with everything else).
Looking at EVs and even grid storage it looks like lithium will be the battery of choice at least in the mid to long term. Other technologies such as conductive roads, flywheels and super capacators may get a leg in possibly if lithium supply drys up. Flow batteries will share the grid storage but I don't like the idea of large volumes of highly acidic V electrolyte in the boot of e vehicles.

Did you know Li is used to make hydrogen fusion bombs. First concentrate your hydrogen and chemical combination with Li to make Li hydride is one way. The scientists believed some of the Li would participate in the nuclear reaction too, but grossly under estimated. As a result one native village was wiped out, several Japanese 'fishermen' were blown into the water, and one French frigate had to return to France for a repaint.
It's a goddamn miracle we did not blow up the whole earth 70 years ago when all that crap was going on.

Lets keep our lithium.
