Leopard Resources Raises $30 On Australian Exchange, Yes $30 In Australia, 30 Australian dollars (US$27.62) doesn’t buy you much. But that’s all gold explorer Leopard Resources NL LRR.AU -33.33%seems to need today.
Leopard Resources lodged a prospectus with the Australian Securities Exchange ASX.AU +1.27%Wednesday to raise A$30, which won’t even cover a starter at Rockpool Bar & Grill, one of the nation’s most popular restaurants.
The Perth-based company, which owns exploration assets in Australia and New Mexico, has already raised around A$1.35 million but buyers of those shares haven’t been able to sell them because of a technicality that today’s filing should rectify.
Raising that A$30 didn’t come cheap. Law firm Steinepreis Paganin will be paid around A$4,000, excluding goods and services tax, for services in relation to the prospectus, which will rack up additional costs of A$6,000 including printing, other administrative costs and fees to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. uuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
