With Brazil producing some 90% of world niobium - CBMM 85% of that its little wonder China - USA - and Korea I think it was scrambled to lock in future supplies and took a 2 billion stake each in CBMM.
Amazing no new niobium mine has opened in 39 years. Whilst some companies are progressing it's still no certainty any will get to production. Strange given the increased demand that the above should occur and strange also niobium prices remain stable given so few players and suppliers.

Anyway wait and see if GBE and it's Australian expertise (which of course we have none of when it comes to niobium and graphite pretty much) and the China connection that GBE boasts of prevails.
