Even if the situation in DRC does not worsen and they can avoid civil war moves to increase taxes on profits, royalties and government stake in any new project will see investors wary of pouring money into new projects and increased cobalt production when there is a risk of changing goalposts at any moment. Only have to look at what has been happening in Tanzania in recent days to see why the CEO probably has end users lining up to sign offtake agreements with BAR.
