I like the sound of the 5kw/ 15kwh residential flow battery in the announcement....let’s look at a possible cost scenario:

Say average house owner joe uses 30kwh a day at say ave price 30c that costs $820 a quarter

Then 5 years ago joe bought 5kw solar panels making 25kwhr a day so his daily use dropped to 20kw hrs (most use in evening) and he produced say 15kw (25-10) of solar at 6c so now joe pays $465 a quarter

Then in 2018 joe buys a vsun 5kw/15kwhr vanadium floe redox battery and now joe uses his solar in the day as well as charges his battery so now his bill drops to
Use 5kw in day and collect in day and use battery for night. The So now joe pays for 5kw = $137 a quarter. (The 10kw in day is solar and battery charges to 15kw for night) (Excluding fixed line cost in all scenarios) So in this example joe saves $1312 per year comparing only solar to battery and solar.

Average joe sells his house every 7 years so if the price of the residential vfrb is less than 7 times $1300 = $9100 then joe will buy a vfrb
