We knew that sales would be weak in the Dec quarter given the IO price, but I was hoping for more encouraging commentary for the current quarter. With iron ore selling for nearly $130/t it would have been a relief to hear that they were 1) looking to sell down the stockpile as fast as possible and 2) busy ramping up production to the absolute max to take advantage of the high price environment.
I thought TI1 could sell however much it wanted to Trafigura, linked to spot? If that's the case I hope they are busy dumping everything they can down that channel, and the two measly shipments going to Asia - not even one month's worth of production - are simply seeking a better margin.
Management, if you are reading this, "Get going!" We're in the sweet spot for selling iron ore right now
