What a piss poor quarterly report from management. Despite all of the positive cost-saving initiatives the company has implemented, this is the best and most detailed update that they could provide. Good things are happening behind the scenes but our inability to convey this to the market is truly something to behold. Perhaps instead of employing an Organisational Development Partner, in John Kuy (great guy by the way), we should have employed someone for IR and marketing. At the end of the day though, the responsibility to appoint a competent MD or CEO of an ASX-listed company rests with the Board, and on this count they have not succeeded. Doug McAlpine is very pragmatic and mostly effective, but if I'm being honest, the most talented person in the executive leadership team is by far the current COO, Denica Saunders. I fully expect Denica to take the top job at some stage, that's if she wants it of course.
