At the end of the day though, the responsibility to appoint a competent MD or CEO of an ASX-listed company rests with the Board, and on this count they have not succeeded. Doug McAlpine is very pragmatic and mostly effective, but if I'm being honest, the most talented person in the executive leadership team is by far the current COO, Denica Saunders. I fully expect Denica to take the top job at some stage, that's if she wants it of course.

Can anyone see evidence of cost saving measures coming through ? Take employee costs, seem to be constantly around $12m per quarter, and were marginally HIGHER in last quarter than first quarter of FY22. Without sustained savings, ongoing operating losses (~$4m/qtr) funded by debt or fire sales ain't gonna fly for long.
