Yes, I've heard others speculate that the employee costs may include termination fees such that there's no short term saving. The high cost of payouts may even be limiting the speed at which staff can be made redundant. Although with average attrition in this industry ~30% pa, you'd think slowing hiring alone would have made an impact. Yeah June 22 Appendix C may shed more light - although losing count of number of times I've thought "next quarter will shed light" !
