You're right in most of what you say jimmy, it is a large area to cover, but the exploration pattern nowadays is to get results from early passes and then go further afield. If I can give you an example, I hold shares in Discovery DML, they found mineable quantities of copper in a location and then began drilling up to several kilometres away and the same applies to many exploration and mining companies. My only reasoning in the case of Rimfire could be that in order to start a mining operation they would want to start it in an area that would prove to be the most profitable place.
Having seen many photos especialy aerial ones, some of them cover large expanses of ground, in fact with open pit mining there could be several pits being mined concurrently.
