Haha its like talking to children... I dont think people consider you need 8-10% of book as core equity, probably another 10-20% mezz credit support, then the rest in senior ( bank funding) ... $1bn book will need near $100m of equity... So any relatively astute person, would ask, why bother putting $100m of equity into something that produces zero yield or barely breaks even? Generally it is that aha moment that prompts share prices to fall off a cliff, ala Ondeck etc @Christos12
