Those culprits you talk of...are not mad retail investors but sophisticated brokers, most of which occupy the entire 2nd floor of the ASX with direct access to computer terminals where they use algorithms to continually shaft us retail punters.
Both the opening and closing auction is controlled by these brokers who can shift/change orders in nanoseconds...they also don't pay brokerage...obviously....so its a total scam to not only line their pockets but those of the ASX.
IMO it should be illegal. Its pure manipulation.
We all share your frustration but zero can be done.
