I think the answer would have to be found in the info Syncrude has released regarding this specific site. I'm not sure we have enough info to determine which method (FFT, CT or End pit) is in use at the particular site we will be trialing at as we weren't provided with that in the ASX ann IIRC. Some sleuthing of Syncrudes project releases could shine a light on which particular site(s) we may be going to and perhaps they were nice enough to mention their environmental policy containing the smoking gun you are looking for.
As someone quite familiar with flocculents, water treatment in other industries i've been accumulating a bunch of specific chemistry and process questions to rattle off to SciDev, perhaps contacting the sales team to give me their pitch.
