I beg to differ. Not all sanctions HAVE been removed. As I previously stated, the number of entities sanctioned were just dramatically reduced. The President is still sanctioned by the US.
it has always been game on for any American company to do business in Zimbabwe, as long as it wasn’t with one of the sanctioned individuals or companies. Few American companies chose to do so, however, as the perceived sovereign risk of dealing with a highly corrupt Marxist govt was seen as not worth the trouble. nor has Zimbabwe ever been a historical trade partner.. But American companies were not prevented by sanctions for doing so if they wished.
so, yes…the easing of sanctions is a good thing, and promotes more confidence building. But imo more is being made of it than is actually the case. I think there’s some fluff in the announcement here, but that is good business practice by Invictus. Companies need to promote themselves.
