If I get what you are saying correctly, you hope and expect that the spare price of AVH will plummet over time and this is a good thing because you can offset the loss against any winners you may have.
I understand why you would offset the loss but to deliberately keep an expected loser because you might need a tax offset is indeed a devious plan.
And there was I trying to make all mine winners and foolishly willing to pay any tax due in that event.
I will adjust my strategy forthwith.
