Thanks for your insightful reply. A few comments and questions:

Funded Product: You said, 'price starts from 3% + $1.50 per installment...now you may look at that and see that say the incremental 1.5% higher price is well below their cost of funds and they make a loss. This is acutally not true. the pricing STARTS from 3% and this is for a 2 month installment, where the merchant is paid upfront. now an incremental 1.5% for 2 months of funding is around 9%+. If you wanted to have a 12 month installment in place, then splitit would price that at 1.5% + 9% + 1.50 per installment.'

    Questions:
    1) First off, you said the price of the funded product starts from 3% and then you talk about the incremental amount being 1.5%. Can you clarify?
    2) I understand the logic for the incremental 1.5% for two months (6 months x 1.5% = ~9%). Can you show any evidence of them charging 1.5% every two months for the funded product? I haven't read this anywhere. And secondly, why not 3% every two months...you mentioned that the price for the funded product STARTS at 3%. I'm a little confused...
    3) If you wanted a 12 month installment plan, why is it 9% + 1.5%? I can work out the 9%, as per above. But where does the extra 1.5% come into it? Furthermore if the funded product starts at 3%, they aren't even making 3% on the transaction.

Now where is the credit risk and who bears it?You said, 'In the funded product, the credit facilitiy provider (Shaked in the US and Honeycomb in the UK) bears the cost of the risk, but has a level of security due to the credit card holds.'
Question: Shaked is a hedge fund that provides loans. It seems that Splitit draws down an amount from the SHAKED debt facility and funds the merchant in advance of the payment. Thus, it seems that Spitit puts a hold on the credit card because its drawns down the money to pay the merchant in advance - not SHAKED. Therefore, it seems that SHAKED is removed from the transaction (as Splitit draws down the money and seem exposed to the risk) so how does it bare the risk?

Thanks for the help and those who have reached out over Twiter!
    Cheers
