On top of that ...public figures, who by choice or appointment, make themselves an expert, or the speaker, for said "community" ( in this case the Lithium "community" ) are held to a higher standard.

Imagine if a radio or TV personality ( again by choice ) named an individual on radio / TV and publicly shamed the said individual simply because the personality is an expert on said subject and the individual is not and because the individual had a different viewpoint than the personality. How would the public react ? They may agree with WHAT the expert says but not HOW he said it. In short, the public looses respect.

Likewise, public figures should put a disclaimer on their positions / relationships with companies they represent, if any, so that the public knows if what they say is objective or otherwise.

Remember the "cash for comments" scandal here in Australia ?
