There has been a proliferation of accidental and deliberate misinformation on this thread for months. Many of you will be well served to buy the Jan 7th issue of New Scientist that includes a lift out on the facts and figures of the current H5N1 bird flu, why it is particularly dangerous and a great deal of information about other strains, about the various mechanisms being used by the virus and why in particular an outbreak in Africa is so feared. Essential reading and easily understood. Also explains how the various drugs act.
