To be fair, Solid Energy NZ were in serious financial trouble before Dan took over.
Dan had a very good reputation as a shrewd general manager at Glencor's Ulan coal mine.
Reputations are fickle and he hasn't strengthened his resume during his time at AMI. Someone's head should roll for the Dargues purchase and the buck stops with the MD!
