Impossible for most retail holders to assess if $90 million is a reasonable price for this strategic asset. Prior to the winter 2020 crop, there were three drought years so in times like that, the asset would be heavily underutilised.
On the positive side, at this stage, perhaps 10 weeks before harvesting begins, crops are looking good, although 'HC' contributor AaronS76 remarked a couple of months ago that for some graingrowers, (minor?) flooding had been a problem resulting in some crop losses (or reductions in projected yield).
In the GNC thread, I've discussed the 7 September 2021 latest forecasts from the Federal Government's ABARES that in summary are optimistic with an increase to what were the former projected NSW harvest tonnes - though this may vary by region.
If so, it'll mean two consecutive years of at least very good crops. (Winter 2021's grain crop was a 'bumper' one).
