I had always wondered how it would work having inert gas required in a small device. Major risk removed, this is technically a massive progression. It really does seem very much like they're close to creating a fundamentally basic prototype now. I'm not sure what else there is, other than now experimenting with algorithms to process the read/write data on a fundamentally basic prototype. (Not as in a full working chip, but a basic device where they can test the qubit on a chip at room temperature, not in intert gas, and slowly build it up to become more powerful over the next 2 years before designing a prototype for fabrication). It really does feel like we're at the point where we (or they) could visualise making something.... to post to Tom Richardson's desk after we've bought all the shares and all agree not to sell any ;-)
