The Qld government is filled with people with no or very limited commercial experience. Being a school teacher or barrister doesn't count.
They fail to understand that commodities run in cycles, there are good years and bad years.
Companies that finance, and investors that back these companies know this and so are willing to patiently wait for the good years to get a return and payoff large capex. With a strong balance sheet they then look to re-invest.
This royalty hike will severely hinder people looking and investing in Qld.
Indeed if Ardani do have a preferential royalty treatment (I couldn't see anything in the news except for the deferment of royalties), I'd think the local boys would be rallying to claim an unfair advantage. GLTAH
