Because that would be "double taxation" - royalties are the province of the states - if Federal Labor wants to do something right, then do something about transfer pricing and other tax rort's that allow 40% of top 100 companies to pay no tax, year after year after year !
But just as Penny Wong continues with the same anti-china diatribe (albeit in a softer tone than the bellicose Morrison gang), this government will do nothing to upset our "great and powerful friends" in Washington, which is the best democracy that (Wall St) money can buy.
It's laughable that a nation of our size, has half a dozen ex-PM's, strutting the world stage giving sermons to any microphone thrust in front of them, and even though the world at large doesn't give a rats about these buffoons, they get generous media coverage back home .... lets get serious and stop listening to these failures and elect politicians who are not afraid to declare independence from those who use the CIA and MI6 to undermine rebellious anti-colonists.
