The answer regarding the feasibility to mine this is years away.  What you are talking about is at least a PFS (Pre-feasibility study) to ascertain whether an economic case could be made, or not.  A PFS is going to cost multiples of G88’s current market cap, how they will fund it is anybody’s guess - with the SP in the doldrums (and unlikely to recover if this is the only resource they can prove up in the interim) all funding options for a PFS will be relatively unpalatable.

Ainsleym is correct.  Relative to other laterite deposits, this one is nothing special.  They would need to define why this one should be further developed over and above tens of others around the globe - some of which are much more advanced than this one.

My advise to G88 - move on from this.  Divesting this is an option worth considering.  Maybe there are other laterite producers that has the downstream infrastructure already and are keen on a new orebody to supply their complex, capital intensive and expensive (and RISKY!) to operate processing plants.  Use the proceeds of the divestment to focus on something else.  Maybe back to gold, maybe other nickel targets.

Like Ainsleym I am p*ss*d off that they did not come clean on the nature of the deposit.  A second-year extractive metallurgy student would have done what ainsleym suggested, many moons ago.  But no, management decided to keep the sulphide dream alive.  One can only hope it was in incompetence, rather than malicious intent.
