I can't actually find the original source of that info nor can I recall where I'd seen it, however I believed the qualification steps they had to undertake was partly due to the out of autoclave processes they were constructing the tail spars with, thus the 12months at least of supplying/building test parts before it was all signed off. What you're saying however seems to debunk that so unless I find something in the meantime I stand corrected.
When did you last speak with the company?, I think it's great you got a response
