To be fair, AQZ always release their half year and full year profit results after the close of the market, so they haven't changed their approach this time.
The result was disappointing, but not totally surprising. The signals were there that there in the second half of FY21 where there were significant costs charged to the P&L with the E190 fleet deployment. These will continue until the full 32 aircraft are fully deployed. The first half of FY22 has also been hit with reduced QAN wet lease flying as COVID has significantly disrupted their passenger demand.
Like others, I'm surprised that AQZ didn't front the banking covenant breach (even if they describe it as a technical breach) issue and weren't required to announce it earlier to the market due to its price sensitive nature.
