In tonight's Fun with Pedants, I've had enough of reading the phrase "risk adverse".
The phrase being aimed for is "risk averse" as in having a strong dislike of or opposition to risk. As opposed to being harmful or unfavourable to development.
The bank's risk aversion is having an adverse effect on their credit card issuance rates.
