Irrespective of the patent situation, until now COH and RAC weren't cooperating, other than having Prof Chen on the SAB.
Now they are meaningfully cooperating, at the cost of low single digit biobucks and $50K upfront and $1m on change of control. Neither of those is going to deter BP.
IMO this should have happened long ago.
