no, that is how it used to work. Now, the company indicates whether it believes the announcement is market sensitive or not.
imagine this: say 10% of companies on the ASX routinely announced on some non-ASX social platform that they would be releasing a market sensitive announcement the following day.
The term, market sensitive, in essence, means the announcement has the strong potential to move the share price up or down.
I ask you: do you think you could put together a profitable trading strategy based on that “heads up” announcement of “tomorrow, we are releasing a market sensitive announcement”?
my point is that a company that announces they will be releasing a market sensitive announcement the following day is, in effect, releasing a piece of market sensitive information.
