We were unaware that there was a mouse model of extramedullary AML until recently. It was only in passing that Nikki mentioned she had developed a mouse model of EMD AML by chance. Her team studies AML and in the process of developing a particular AML model her team observed that the AML often took the EMD form. It was one of those lucky co-incidence you learn about in science when chatting. Once we knew she had a EMD mouse model we jumped at the chance to use it.
