There is a massive unmet need.While anthracyclines like Doxorubin have been around since the 70’s but as patients are now living longer thanks to better treatments, targeted & personalised medicine (rather than a shotgun one size fits all approach) there are more cardiotoxicity issues appearing.

650,000 patients annually receive chemotherapy 15.5 million cancer survivors (this is just 4% of global cancer population) 20.3 million projected cancer survivors by 2026. Childhood cancer survivors are 8x likely to die from cardio vascular disease.15 x increase risk of expressing heart failure. Seeing more with aging population & as more survive cancer treatment.

For RAC having a drug that has shown that it can prevent heart cell damage and protect the heart during cancer treatment is massive.The need is so immense that the more I learn about how recent cardio oncology has been a focus, the more I understand why RAC is now marketing as we have the right drug, right place, right time as well as the right team.
Lastly I encourage all to take a read of Professor Aaron Sverdlov and his background, his passion for discovering the mechanisms involved in heart damage during cancer treatment and if Prof. Sverdlov & his team are able to discover why & how Zantrene protects the heart, how much to dose in combination with Doxorubin and what damage is avoided versus a baseline group that received treatment with Dox only then the global scientific community (& patients) will shower the scientific team with all manner of awards.RAC will then be well on the way to helping patients survive and for shareholders to probably damage their livers in retirement.

My mind boggles at just how late to the party a lot of cardio-oncology is to the party, take 4-40hrs to learn a bit more on the topic and the opportunity ahead for RAC takes on a whole new level of excitement.
