My take on buying the IP, is a simple one. RAD after licensing and having a good hard look at what it can do under testing conditions, like what they see so much that they have now bought it out right. By giving them shares instead of money, they can also be a big part of the growth story in the future. A win, win for both parties. World wide ownership of three world class platforms in this field sounds pretty good to me.
