I wasn't "sitting" on the Nevada rig but the fieldie in charge was in the same remote trailer location so I saw his work. Your query makes me want to confirm my recollection with some hard data but 40 years down the track makes it difficult to impossible. I do recall a board on which chips were placed in 10 foot increments and stuck with Elmer's glue. 500 ft or 1500ft I can't be sure. I agree 1500 is deep though an on line search gave this. Suggests it was possible - at least.
Such depths were not common in Australia though are more so these days. The cost and time benefit tilts drilling with diamond as hole depths get greater. Add on the quality of product (core vs chips) and diamond usually is preferred. Technologies and materials change over time. Maybe lasers, high pressure water or ?? in the future.

Another thing I checked into was the difference between datums NAD83 (WCN) and WGS84 (google earth). Very technical and beyond lay persons means to calculate but appears the difference is negligible for most casual purposes.

Have to agree with Blythefan that extracting data from multiple announcements is a real chore. Disclosure but needing a lot of effort to compile.
Bodging? Suspect it means overlaying different images - hopefully getting scales, locations and visibility all in a reasonable manner.
Interesting to see Hole 8 from one announcement overlain on Holes 3 and 4 Plus a 2005 hole - Bodged together?
======================
To add some predictions - something that is interesting to try but of little value other than some FUN.
From the visuals and result reported to date some wild estimates of possible thickness and grade for the remaining 3 holes
Hole 2 ~70m at ~~2% from ~11m, including ~30m at ~~3+% from ~11m
Hole 6 ~68m at ~~3% from ~8m, including ~34m at ~~3+% from ~42m
Hole 6 ~100m at ~~3% from ~30m, including ~17m at ~~4+% from ~42m probably multiple high grade zones.
From reported holes zones with 3+% chalcocite assays seem to be high suggesting conservative visuals in THOSE holes IMO.
Hope these estimates come true. NOT TO BE TAKEN AS REAL WITH ASSAYS TO COME SOONISH TO SHOW HOW FAR OFF THEY ARE..
